Max Caulfield is an 18 year old student at Blackwell Academy, an exclusive arts and sciences high school in Arcadia Bay, Oregon. Max (never Maxine) is a self-professed geek. She tends to be extremely introverted, hesitant and awkward during social interactions with people, even those she is close to. She sometimes comes across as aloof to her peers, and often fluctuates between being too quiet or being too chatty. Max is more than slightly self-conscious, particularly when it comes to her photography. According to her, she prefers to observe the world around her through her camera lens rather than participate in it, and this has led to some of the students of Blackwell Academy to think she doesn't really care about others. But on the contrary, she thinks kindly towards fellow students who are having a rough time, respects those who have genuine skill, and makes an effort to show kindness to all of Blackwell's students, even when they don't necessarily get along. She's a clear, deductive thinker, willing to be underhanded if she feels she needs to be, and is reasonably practical and mature for her age. She can also be lazy, tends to procrastinate, can be careless or shortsighted when it comes to being there for those who depend on her, is often overly nosy, and sometimes oversteps unspoken boundaries when she does attempt to connect with others.

Max has great affection and interest for photography, always taking pictures of her surroundings since she considers it a way to be part of the world, but at a safe distance. She aspires to turn her love of photography into a career one day, and practically idolizes the success and artistry of her photography teacher, Mark Jefferson. She especially has an affinity for old analog cameras, and has a weakness for selfies. She also enjoys obscure cult movies and anime. She has always dreamed of traveling and exploring the world.

Max has also recently found that she has the ability to manipulate time to a certain extent. She can rewind the last few minutes, currently, though the effect of her power will grow over the course of her canon. Needless to say, it has thrown her life into some turmoil, even aside from the vision of future destruction it has brought her.

Appearance: Max is 5'3" and of slight build that makes her look younger than she is. She has straight auburn hair cut just below her chin, blue eyes, and freckles. She can usually be found wearing a t-shirt, hoodie, jeans, and sneakers, peeking out from behind her camera.
